i think that because a wedding cake is traditionally white or vanilla, the idea of the groom’s cake was to have some chocolate of some sort. Pretty sure xshub didn’t have one, bc we had a delicious choc chip cake. xsteen and xsfiance are looking at one or two layers of black/white mousse cake [DELISH, we have gotten their bday cakes in this flavor and it is to die for, very light and not overly sweet], a layer of bavarian cream and fruit with vanilla cake, and also a tiramisu cake layer.

We have all those cookies, so there is no shortage of chocolate. ;-)

That cake sounds yummy-something for everyone. I did a white cake with vanilla cream between the layers, and had sliced fresh fruit stuck on instead of icing and sugar flowers, and sprays of fresh flowers arranged on it-it was so pretty that the cub did the same cake for her wedding. That made it easy to remove the ribbon with the groom’s ex’s name on it, too-we just moved a couple of kiwi and strawberry slices...

I should not be reading this part of the thread while I am hungry and went for a jog instead of eating lunch.
