I felt the same way about the roasted pig. LMAO It was delish, but really, I am not a farm girl and eating the pet pig sounded revolting. I had seconds, though.
the only roasted pig i have ever had was at luaus in Hawaii, and it didn’t taste quite “right” to me. i like ham and i like pork, and this didn’t really taste like either.
I like grilled lamb or cabrito-not available here except in Spring. And I love roast pig, too. As kids, we never were allowed to make pets of animals designated as “food”-they were just “livestock” on the ranch. Sheep, and the goats sheared for hair/wool were too valuable for many to be slaughtered-only a few culls were for food.
I couldn’t have a pet slaughtered and eat it, either, but not everyone is so picky.
