False alarm. I just watched "A" again.

Entering Terminus, Rick drops a 1911, then reaches behind his back and drops something else that is heavy and metal. The second object isn't shown. When the weapons are handed back, the scene is shot from Rick's right side. The 1911 is placed in Rick's right hand. The second object is placed in Rick's left hand, but the view of the second object is obstructed by Rick's body and right hand.

However, when Rick drops his weapons near the boxcar, he drops a 1911, then reaches behind his back and throws down an extra clip.

Ergo, the second item Rick dropped upon entering Terminus was the extra clip.

When the group was ordered to drop weapons at the boxcar, didn't Rick drop only one handgun?

Interesting observation, I'll have to watch that sequence again........good catch.

I was thinking about that scene and think it is probably my "favorite and most touching of the whole season. Rick laying comatose on that sofa and Carl couldn't get him to wake up. Then Rick started making "zombie-like" sounds and Carl had to aim his gun at his own father and decide to shoot him in case he was reanimating. Carl couldn't do it and when Rick turned and his arm flopped over, it broke my heart when Carl sobbed, "Just do it then, get it over with!". For all his talk about not needing his Dad anymore, when push came to shove, he KNEW he couldn't go on without him - that life wouldn't be worth living alone. Sob. Sniff."

Very affecting scene. I love Rick, and for all his flaws I recognize that he has carried some heavy burdens and led his group to the best of his ability, but I give Carl a pass on that shouting fit. The kid is as high-strung as any other young teenager, and look at what he's been through. It's a wonder he didn't melt down before then. In the end, though, it was just a release...he needs his dad.

Chandler Riggs really killed it this season. I thought he managed to portray complete terror as he was struggling with that fat homo rapist.

"...I think it would help Daryl's image if he had a cat, maybe even a kitten. Cats and kittens don't bark............LOL!

While it's never worked for me, kittens are real babe magnets..........."

LOL, Norman Reedus is a cat owner!

I didn’t know she was Bing Crosby granddaughter by his son Dennis. Also she was on Star Trek and she also played the wife in the first Pet Sementary.

From Scott Gimple, Executive Producer and Writer for The Walking Dead:

WHERE’S BETH?
That’s going to be answered next season.
And I’m really excited to tell everybody the answer.
It might be a little heartbreaking,
it might be a little heartwarming,
but it’s going to be interesting...

If you have a chance to re-watch “A”, pay attention to the flashbacks.
They were not put there for nothing.
The “feral pigs”...
The “new sheriff in town”...

Rick has called Carl's name 105 times.

Site has an interactive "Carl" button.

” ‘..ethical misgivings about fighter pilots generally...’

Care to explain that little gem?”

29 years in uniform convinced me that while fighter pilots do possess abilities occasionally useful in action, the rest of the time they are barely tolerable.

Blessed with big egos, they almost never develop the maturity, attention span, and broadness indispensable in senior leaders; as insatiable competition junkies, they are prone to compartmentalization deficiencies which lead them inexorably away from steadiness and reliability toward unpredictable, untrustworthy behavior.

In a pithier vein, I once heard a colleague describe them as whiny, backstabbing little mamas’ boys.
