Silly Wildcats. You gotta win before you can riot.

and that out of bounds call looked like an attempt to make up for the earlier bad call.

I call bogus. I suspect some police officials were expecting a real riot and didn’t realize the Wildcats lost. It looked like mostly bummed-out fans stumbling around after the game. They sent a text with an alert about an “unlawful assembly” before the game was even over, they were out there with the “riot police” ready to go...and nothing really happened. Jeepers, I’m pretty sure crowds of people wandering around University Ave on a Saturday night is totally normal.

Are people supposed to know WTH this is all about from the thread title?
To: BenLurkin
Is Sheriff Dupnik’s team behind this idea?

It’s the headline and thou shalt post the unaltered headline. Rail against the headline writer, not the poster.

Wow.
I’m a Wisconsin grad, watched the first ten minutes, and gave up.
“The Badgers are out of their league,” I was thinking, “they’re toast.”
What happened???

I’m as anti the emerging police state as anybody, but my son in law is on the force down there. His family had traveled 250 miles today for his birthday party this evening, and TPD called him in for mandatory overtime tonight. Campbell and Euclid was the last place most of those guys wanted to be.
He got hit with a couple of bottles, but is otherwise okay. My son in law is a great young man, not a fascist. They didn’t gin up anything.

note that I wrote Police officials, not police officers. TPD was definitely correct to be prepared, but it was a dubious decision to escalate. Which put your SIL into harm’s way, btw, sorry to hear that he got beaned.
