Zip tie ... good idea. I’ve already removed the cord, but after watching this, I think the zip tie is a better solution.

You’re welcome. Don’t take the spring out, though. That was my mistake. The guy is using pliers to pull a zip-tie through the spring hole, not take the spring out.

Just above a wheel, next to a hole she would stick the handle of a small pan in the hole. Nice trick after she pulled her car out to leave.............
Seriesly, I do similar when we are going to be away for a few days. Garage doors do open mysteriously from spurious signals. Was sort of hilarious in a new development we moved into where the moron builders had used the same code on several house garage doors.

If you are leaving the home for any long period simply put a padlock in the track above a wheel. If the break in occurs through a window, cagey theives like to pull their vehicle in the garage and load it without having to leave the house of hurry.

when i lived in an apartment complex i had a neighbor whose wife would blast the stereo and would not turn it down. i figured out their garage door code. there was much schaudenfreude.
