I wish people would stop putting ‘birth’ and ‘biological’ in front of mother and father.

Those of us who adopt children are the legal parents, the mother and father in terms of law if not in biological fact. The term is useful to distinguish one type of parent from the other.

The terms biological father or biological mother in fact denote that the so-termed is not the mother or father.
