A prominent evangelical charity is reversing a policy change announced two days ago to hire Christians in same-sex marriages.
The humanitarian relief agency World Vision said in a letter to supporters Wednesday that the nonprofit had made a mistake by changing its policy for the U.S. The aid groups leaders said they were broken-hearted over the pain the decision had caused.

I give World Vision $100/yr. I emailed them yesterday saying that they had seen the last of my money.
Don’t know if I’ll ever contribute to them again.
They’re “homosexuals” not “gays”!!
Agreed. Richard the slimebag Stearns needs to resign.
Was the policy only going to be changed for the US with regards to same sex marriages? Or does this policy still stand in countries outside the US?
Why use the term invented by a liberal Austrian reporter as the “correct” term? He only did that to make people stop saying “sodomite”. (He coined “heterosexual” at the same time, to create a false equivalence.)
This is MASSIVE. We exerted pressure, and they buckled! One of the rare times the left fails in this arena. FREEPER CHAMPAGNE ALL ROUND!
Stearns stated he prayed about this for years, and one day later he changes his mind?
So he’s walking away from what God told him to do?
hmm, there is usually a gotcha to these kinds of reverse decisions. Hopefully this is a full and complete reversal.
It is still disappointing that they made the original decision in the first place, buckling under from PC peer pressure. Then they buckled again under Christian backlash. It is obvious that they don’t follow biblical standards because it is just right thing to do in the first place.
Otherwise it would have been buh-bye. Thanks Olog-hai.
Their core values can change that fast?
Says something.

It took years of prayer for them to come to the first decision, but only a day or two to come to the second decision. They are wishy washy and horribly untaught in scripture and not deserving of anyone’s $$. There are plenty of other charities doing good work in the world. I will give to them.
There are no Christians in same-sex marriages. Period.
Chick-Fil-A and the Phil Robertson effect strike again. Why are we so timid regarding this?
What was most distressing was not only the betrayal of God's Word, but the fact that Richard Stearns allowed this in the first place.
I know pastors and people who are friends with him. He is a Cornell and Wharton school grad. He was VP of the Franklin mint, and then CEO of Lenox. He gave up millions per year to lead World Vision, and to serve Christ as President of World Vision.
Why would he do such a thing? I have asked that question 1,000 times the last couple of days. When given a choice between the sinful world and God, you are to choose God every single time.
He deserves kudos for reversing this, but the damage, I am afraid, is done.
What made it even worse was how he was basically spitting in the faces of everyone who believed strong about the issue by comparing it to infant vs. adult baptism disagreements.
“...World Vision said in a letter to supporters Wednesday that the nonprofit had made a mistake by changing its policy for the U.S. ..”
In the U.S., eh? This implies to me they will still hire “married” homos in other countries.
If so, they can forget any support from me. Christian morals don’t change when you cross a border.
They were only changing it for the US, not for the entire operation. ZOOOOOT!
We all make errors in judgement. WEe all sin. Heck...I’ve made some doozies. The thing is that 1 John 1:9 STILL IS IN EFFECT....
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
As long as Stearns confesses, he will be forgiven.
Yes, there WILL be consequences (although sometimes the Lord in His mercy even eases those), but I hope they learned a lesson.
