Cook bacon until crisp. The bacon in that picture is anything but crisp. I know this because I am a licensed Baconologist, really.

My wife made chocolate-covered bacon for me in several varieties:
pecan-crusted, cashew-crusted, toffee chip-crusted and (my favorite) Chile-flavored chocolate.
She cooked the bacon on skewers before coating.

Some time ago I decided to make coq au vin for dinner. The whole process starts with cooking some bacon in a Dutch oven, and I decided to cook an extra strip so I’d have a little snack for myself.
That was a mistake. Next time I’ll cook TWO extra strips. :)

I don’t think the bacon would get cooked enough during the time that the rolls bake. Bacon is cured. That's cooked enough for me. I can't abide crispy bacon. Warm is good enough for me. I like it microwaved and chewy.
