One statement declared that she was following the dress code. (Is there a dress code for hair length?) I can say that after watching the video, I clearly could not tell her gender. That does not translate to gender confusion, though. More complicated than that. School uniforms would settle a lot of this hot mess. So does pulling her out of the school. The grandparents, IMHO, have no basis for a lawsuit. Not enough info to really make a clear judgement, and thankfully, I don’t need to.
there can be a dresscode for hair length. there certainly was for boy’s hair length when xsboy was in middle school, and he was told more than once to get it cut and off we went to do so. if the school felt there was a biblical basis in requiring longer hair on girls, then yeah it would be in the dress code.
and really, since when do we allow our 8 yo’s to decide what they are going to wear and how long to keep their hair? you tell them that if you want to go to this school this is what you wear and this is how you do your hair. period.
