Help me to understand something, please.
Does each country or region in Europe have a “pro league”?
That plays regular season games and then winner goes on to meet other league winners? Will this team go on to play in a European Championship?

The way it works is, depending on the strength of a domestic league, each league sends a certain number of teams to the following season’s Champions League.

For example, the English Premier League, sends the top four teams to play in next year’s UEFA Champions League. The Champions League runs parallel to the domestic season. It’s not like we do it here where there’s a regular season than a playoff.
