Quite the movie. Watched Patton last weekend myself.
I need to watch Patton, again.
Funny you mention Patton and The Sting....Patton was one of mom’s favorites and The Sting was the one and only movie dad saw since 5¢ Saturday matinees ;)
I would have liked The Sting for the soundtrack alone, but I liked Robert Shaw in that movie as well.
I liked the off handed way the Brando death scene was filmed. It was almost thrown away instead of putting in some sort of spotlight - the opposite of melodrama. There isn’t much that’s overwrought in the first two Godfather films...they are pretty restrained and laconic (the less said about the third film the better). The Conversation isn’t overwrought at all for instance.
Brooks doesn’t have any cinematic sense at all. The Producers is completely inept from a pure filmmaking point of view. Jerry Lewis at least was an accomplished technician.
What films aren’t ‘entertainment products’? Bunel?
“The Deep”
Jacqueline Bisset in a wet t-shirt, ‘nuff said.
