I only posted once to you. Someone else laughed at your post not me. But you’re still ignorant on some basic football issues. The collisions that occur now in football vastly exceed those in the past. The height, weight, and speed of the players has increased dramatically. It was very rare for players to exceed 300 pounds during the years you listed. Now, every team has offensive lines averaging way over 300. Running backs routinely weigh over 220 pounds.
I’m not saying football wasn’t violent back then. It was. But the pure physics have changed. Again, I’m not for banning it. But I think a billion dollar plus league can pay medical care for its gladiators as they age. We’re not talking about a ton of people.
Do you really believe I’m “ignorant” about these things. YOU are ignorant about my knowledge base. Yes, players are bigger, but they don’t play with leather “helmets” anymore, and there are LOTS more rules to protect them. I know all about 300 pounders—Dierdorf was the first in the league I believe.
As for banning/welfare payments, etc. Yes, the league could pay but there is no reason they should. NONE. Everybody knows the risks; when I played the coach frequently said that every single play is potentially fatal, or at the very least, potentially catastrophically injurious.
Lastly, you cannot be serious about there not being “a ton of people.” No matter how many or how few people there are, the courts and the juries have it in their hands to DEVASTATE, DESTROY, and END FOOTBALL with a single decision. Unlikely? I presume that because you are on FR, you know all about crazy, insane, mad, demented, sick, perverse, outrageous, mind-boggling courts and juries handing out ungodly, crippling sums for no good reason whatsoever.
This head injury thing is a tool of liberals to destroy football. Period.
