Questions abound after the Albuquerque Police Department released video footage of cops shooting and killing a homeless man whose alleged crime was camping in an unauthorized area.
Police came upon Boyd while he was sleeping outside in the Sandia Foothills. Camping is not allowed in the area.
He was instructed to accompany police down the mountain and seemed to agree to the demand.
Thats when cops shot a flash grenade at him and sicked a dog on him. Boyd turned away, and was holding a knife, according to police reports. He was then shot.
Please dont hurt me anymore, he said after he was struck and knocked to the ground. I cant move.
Though bleeding and begging for his life, he was then handcuffed.
Eden said police were justified in shooting Boyd, however, because he made a threatening movement and had been arrested previously on violent charges.

I've read your posts. The hobo probably is a step up from you.
“Yet a spray of Bear Spray would have totally incapacitated him with NO death resultant.”
A well regulated bear spray team, being necessary to the security of a death-free state, the right of the people to keep and bear spray (no pun), shall not be infringed.
“I’ve read your posts. The hobo probably is a step up from you.”
I revise my previous statements. I am not as sure that the officer was justified to use lethal force. I made previous statements based on the article alone, but the video told another story. I do not know the full story. I do not think anyone here does either, but if you do, please let me know. I have the right to form opinions and express them as such (as long as JR allows me access to his property — FR).
#44 - I retract. Apologizes.
Thank you. Apology accepted on my part.

That’s once. :-)
Okay, let’s go back a few years. There was another “CRAZY MAN” that terrorized this community. The police would arrest him, he’d spend a few days in jail, then he’d be let out again. This happened for a couple of years. Then one day he was again released from jail, but this time he had a gun and killed 2 police officers before he was caught. At least now, this man is in the state “LOONY BIN” for life. Now, who is to blame for that? This is the problem that police officers have, probably every where. They catch the perp, the judges turn them loose, to be caught again by the police. There will be one time when a perp gets a gun and kills a police officer or a civilian.
