No, whether a person is acting wisely or foolishly, in all cases, the police *choose to make an arrest*. Sometimes they choose wisely, and sometimes they choose foolishly.
And a parent in a free nation does not need to “get clearance” to attend their own child-—unless you believe that the child is the *property of the school* and that the parent requires *permission* to manage their own child’s affairs on school grounds.
Now, you could argue that this account demonstrates that we are not a free nation, but in that case, one would hope you wouldn’t defend the practice.

A parent who has their child in a school does not want ANYONE bypassing the office to go directly into the school proper WITHOUT permission being granted. And they take that position for the safety of their own child.
