I’ve been called to school several times and I’ve always signed in, even when it was an emergency. There was no excuse for her not signing in. However, I don’t think it rises to the level of an arrestable offense, unless she’s been warned several times.

I would say that she probably caused her own arrest by how she talked and interacted with the police. Some people are belligerent with the police and that means if they have “discretion” - the police won’t use it in your favor.

But no ... this person doesn’t know “way too much” as anyone can tell you about other parents in these classes, especially if they stand out, as this mother obviously does. I know as much about some others in our school as this person does.

The school’s just covering its ass in case someone pulls the same stunt and goes on a killing spree. The same people ready to sue now will sure as hell sue then.

The mother indicated her willingness to sign in. The school administration, despite *buzzing her in*, called and reported her for trespassing.

Even if she talked to/interacted with the police disrespectfully, she did not “cause her own arrest”. They *chose* to arrest her.

And yes, the person commenting does know way too much-—either they have so little to do in their own lives that they seek out gossip, or they are a nosy school employee who has nothing better to do on the taxpayer’s time than to seek out and air other people’s dirty laundry (if true).

By the way, I can guarantee you that there is at least one other parent in the school who enters *without signing in* (a spouse of a school employee, a parent *liked*/favored by the school administration.

All it takes is for witnesses to verify that Jane Doe/John Doe was in the building and to check the sign in log to see if he/she signed in to prove.
