If MN splits and PSU wins both their matches, PSU wins.
Starting order starts at 174 and ends at 165. This could come down to Taylor needing a win or possibly a pin to win the team.
I despise the ncaa and espn, but this has been a great production from start to finish.
If Ruth takes care of business early, then it could come down to someone stopping this at the end of the night:
Hated that rule ever since they put it in.
They move it around for drama. They did the same last year w/ Dake/Taylor - that was the last match and they hyped it to the max.
Good for the sport. I also enjoyed Billy Baldwin’s commentary. As an actor/color guy - he showed his knowledge of the sport (he was a good college wrestler) and did a fine job imo.
I hope they have him back on tonight.
I remember the first time I saw David Taylor wrestle. I was impressed to say the least. He’s an animal. I think he changed weight classes in HS in order to wrestle some other standout in the finals. That took guts.
One of my regrets - and I’m in FL obviously - is that I haven’t gotten back to Rec Hall in the past 4 years to watch Taylor and Ruth (and Nico, for that matter) wrestle in person. The b1g channel is great, but Rec Hall in person is something else.
Should be crazy and electric tonight. Time to put it all out there.
174 - (1) Perry (OKSt) over (2) Howe (OU) by decision.
184 - (2) Ruth (PSU) over (1) Sheptock (MARY) by dec
197 - (1) Heflin (tOSU) over (2) Cox (MIZZ) by dec
285 - (2) Gwaizdowski (NCSt) over (1) Nelson (MiNN) by fall
125 - (2) Garrat (COR) over (1) Delgado (IlL) in SV
133 - (3) Ramos (IOWA) over (5) Graff (Wiscy) by dec
144 - (2) Stieber (tOSU) over (4) Carter (VT) by MD
149 - (5) Tsirtsis (NW) over (11) Kindig (OKSt) by MD
157 - (3) Dieringer (OKSt) over (9) Ness (MINN) by dec
165 - (1) Taylor (PSU) over (2) Caldwell (OKSt) by fall
Ok, the last one is a bit of wish on my part. I'd like to see Taylor set PSU's all time pin record. (He's tied right now.) He'll at least get a major.
And off we go. Gonna be great.
Congrats on 3x champ Ruth of PSU.
2 out of three so far...not bad.
GWizz puts you guys in the catbird seat for the National Championship.
Yes. Hugh and Series win by Gwizzz. I thought he had it in him, after beating Nelson twice last summer.
Watch Garrett here. These Cornell kids are tough. Delgado will probably try to stall his way to a win.
Team is over - unless Taylor loses. Bwuahhhhhhhhhhh....
Nice job PSU!
bwuahhhhhhhh ... DT will at least major.
Garrett up on RT
Garrett should have had those two TDs
Such a great job by Cael. Bring it on Magic Man!
Once the first TD was denied, they couldn’t give him the other since it was essentially the same position. Entertaining match, though.
It looks like Cael and Franklin are becoming friends. Franklin really likes Cael a lot. They are going on a coaches tour together ... raise money.
