I like the Tempurpedic line from Staples. I picked one up for just under $200 on a the black Friday sale. It is listed at $299. I haven't had it long enough to tell how durable it is.

I sat in the tempurpedic one and it seemd acceptable. like you, I was concerned about the durability. the adjustable lumbar was nice, i just wondered if it would actually stay in place after a couple months of use

A second vote for the Tempur-Pedic chairs. I got this one from Staples a few years ago for the home office.
