I’m going to take the unpopular side here and say I agree with management. When this “homeless guy” gets back to his buddies with his cup o’ joe, he’ll tell them where he got it and that 7-11 would be swamped with hobos within hours. Many won’t “ask” for handouts, they’ll just take them.
Giving free stuff to bums is the most sure-fire way to find yourself surrounded by more bums.
That is the marxist playbook in a nutshell.
I don't think that is the unpopular side, I would guess 99% of people here would agree with you.
That isn't her coffee to give away. Period. If she wanted to buy the homeless guy a cup of coffee, and the company rules permit her to buy customers beverages, then obviously she shouldn't be terminated. As is she essentially stole from the company.
She shouldn't have gotten her job back. I worked retail during college and no store that I can think of would let me give the company's stuff away because I happened to think it was a good cause.
So do I.
She should have thrown a buck in the till for her good intentions. Charity is neither spending your employer's money nor is it spending someone else's tax dollars.
“Im going to take the unpopular side here and say I agree with management. “
Might be the unpopular side with the marxists, but not to those who believe in individual liberty. This whole thing about helping the free-loaders is getting out of hand — to the point of helping freeloaders with other peoples’ money.
I say we should stop the charities that throw money at the losers. That is the root cause. If you stop “helping” the parasites, the parasites will stop being parasitic and work for a change.
