I was 11 in 1977 when the first Star Wars came out. I remember my school bus driver told us Lucas’ plan of the middle three then the first three and of course the last three as you pointed out. I think the original plan was to release movies 1 thru 3 in 1986, 1989 and 1992 with Episodes 7 thru 9 in 1995, 1998 and 2001. I wonder how an Episode 1 filmed in 1986 would have looked, probably not as much CGI although in my humble opinion Val Kilmer would have made a good, young Obi Wan.

The Nine Film plan was a bogus after the fact lie. It’s been confirmed by one of the other producers.

exactly.... no overlapping conversation... no one ever interupts anyone, cuts anyone off..
I don’t like much that in any movie... it’s not realistic

I couldn't care less about more "Star Wars" episodes. Pablum for the "Star Wars" types. Lame scripts; lame acting; lame premise; lame direction; et al. More like fantasy (if you like that).
However, I have been highly entertained by the re-boot of "Star Trek" with it's early days about the crew. The story-lines are coherent, interesting, good dialog, and well directed so you care about the early days of those characters from the original "Star Trek" characters.
The first one was the best that showed the birth of James T. Kirk; his childhood as when he joy-rided his Dad's car; joining the Federation; and his default assignment as Captain of the Enterprise. JJ Abrams has done an exceptional job making you care about those characters. The second "reboot" was also done well. I love how they inter-place different TV characters into both (Captain Pike) , although not in the right order. They even mention Nurse Chapel in the second one. Much better movies than lame "Star Wars".
However, if Lucas wants to go prequel and show the early start of the Jedi and Empire, along with fleshing out those characters, I may watch it. Doubt I will since 4,5,and 6 were boring to tears.

The books were interesting...an unexpected character dies.
Maybe the script will be based on them.
Does it make one a geek to have read Star Wars books????

Depends upon which books youre talking about the Expanded Universe isnt considered Star Was canon , but if Mr. Lucas himself released any kind of Episode Books for VII-IX then yeah, theyd be hard to reconcile those with these new movies.
There's actually quite a bit of dispute over that (see
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars_canon, which actually puts forward that there are four levels of canon and one of non-canon. Just another example of how nothing in the Star Wars universe (or, rather, "continuity") is ever simple and straightforward. Except that bit about Wookies pulling off peoples' arms when they lose ...

That is not Rosanne Barr, that is Carrie Fisher in the photo. Why Howard Stern, maybe because of his height with character makeup as a bad guy?
Doesn't matter. Unless they find a new director and script writer, it will be as bad as 4,5,6 episodes where you really don't care about the characters. If you're only about special effects, sure there will be plenty. Personally, I'm getting bored with FX. I want characters to be fleshed out and someone I can identify with, as in the new "Star Trek" franchise.
