My mom and dad bought a bright yellow Fiat X1/9, which was also fun to drive and a pain to keep up. It was a sharp little thing, but - seemingly the moment it left the showroom floor - it began corroding exponentially.

My second or thrid car was a X1/9.. So this had to be late 80’s.. Car was mid/late 79’s I think, or early 80’s.. anyways. Minnesota being the rust belt had taken it’s toll on the car, but on in the usual wow look at that rusty car way.. from the outside it looked pretty good. few spots here and there...

then at 60 MPH (I know, it was not exactly quick getting there) the engine fell out..
