My primary desktop is XP OS. By the time I buy new software, upgrade necessary components, etc, I've almost purchased a new computer.

Dell has the Win7 OS on a computer for ~$324. I'm just going to buy a new PC.

Sounds like good advice. My HP desktop is 10+ years old and gettin' cranky.

If you’re running hardware spec’d for xp, I would definitely go the new machine route. imho, cheaper and would present you with far fewer hardware compatibility complications.

Check out newegg for refurbished units. Most of them come with a copy of Windows 7 included. Several are available for less than $200.00.

I recently purchased a HP unit just to be able to keep some XP games running. The cost of the unit INCLUDING WIN 7 install disk was less than the cost of WIN 7 alone.
