Yep, just like the York County, S.C. police department telling that deputy that he only "dud what he had to do" after shooting that 70 year old vet who reached for his cane.
Cops priorities are themselves and not the public.

Police officers are authorized to use deadly force in order to protect the police officers or others from what is reasonably an immediate threat of death or serious physical injury, McEachern said during a news conference Friday. It's the explanation that got Michael Dunn off in Jacksonville. It'll probably get this officer off as well.

The Chief made reference to “packets and a hand rolled cigarette” and inferred that it was spice that was found in the car. They shouldn’t have shot him but it won’t help the kid’s case if he was doing something illegal.
