Is the missing 777 jet is equipped with phones? Id bet it is. Id assume cellular via satellite.
With hundreds of persons onboard, why didnt one person make a phone call? The plane did. It pinged at least one satellite for hours after other systems went dark. It appears to me someone forgot to shut that one system down or it was in a location it couldnt be immediately accessed. and turned off.
For Christs sake, as the World Trade Center towers were about to fall, people were calling out and sending video clips and photos via cell phone. When planes were hijacked on 9/11/2001, the people in them were calling out to family with cell phones or using the phones on the plane that went through satellites.
IF the plane went down, why no debris alone its scheduled flight path?
IF the plane was hijacked, by pirates why no ransom demand?
WHY would anyone steal the plane? Every part in it could be purchased and duplicated by North Korea, China, Russia, or any oil rich nation. Face it, its not a Skunk Works U2 spy plane or was it? Its been done before and the planes were shot down straying over things not intended to be seen.
WHY would anyone want anything that eats fuel like a 777 that cant land at any airport in the world?
WHAT would any hijacker do with hundreds of people? Toss them out of the plane? Doubtful.
Ask yourself this. If this is as confusing as it is, what authority has the power to keep it from us?
I’m tired of speculating about this.
You mean, cell phones don't work everywhere? That's not what the ads say :)
I’m the devil’s advocate here. I don’t have the answers nor do I have a CRYSTAL BALL.
ROFL!!!!
The sad part is, I think you actually believe there’s any meaningful connection between some airliners’ built-in satellite internet, and a common cellphone’s ability to place a call.
Try it next time you fly.
Seriously.
Islamic Republic of Iran.
Hopefully the investigators will analyze the flight simulator found at the pilot’s home. My guess is that it was used for planning the route and/or training the stolen-passport holders. Deleted files are likely to have answers if they can be recovered. It might even give clues to where they intend to crash the plane later. Would be interesting to know how much fuel the plane had,and effective range without refueling.
This is really awful for the victims’ families.
I mean the 777 has a satelite dish transmitter in it’s back and can relay cellular calls to ant AT&T Network through them.
You also have to be pretty near a place with cell towers.
Seriously?
What is that "A" for in "AT&T"?
E.g., if this was a hijacking, it was very sophisticated. Maybe they had a cell phone jammer on board. Maybe they piped knock-out gas into the cabin.
As for cargo, China's been buying a lot of gold lately. I heard on radio today that Kuala Lumpur is a transshipment point. Or maybe there were artworks which had been bought by billionaire Chinese.
As for the people, they could be on some island where the plane landed.
Maybe those scenarios can be shot down, but probably a more knowledgeable person could come up with plausible ones.
What I keep coming back to is incredulity that the gov'ts involved claim to know nothing a week into it.
Why did it turn around?
Thunderball scenario. Pump gas into the plane, take it somewhere and offload the bodies.
Another transmitter connects the internet through a satellite and another handles internally made cellular from a pay phone OR from cell phones with a major credit card.
There haven’t been phones on the planes I’m on for years.
You either haven’t flown in a long time, have flown on some really really old equipment, or not have not been very observant.
You realize that before 9/11 the tv series, The Lone Gunman, had a show with a similar script that aired six months before the actual event.

And the sci-fi tv series, Seven Days had one of their shows in which missiles are planned to hit the Pentagon.

Parker must convince a teen cyberpunk that she is the linchpin in a disgruntled geeks plan to launch missile attacks against the Pentagon.
Everyone has a theory...my husband’s is...they wanted a private party somewhere

It takes a specially thick reinforced runway long enough to take off again and there ain’t to many of em around the world 7 feet thick with concrete.
You'll have to show me that Malaysian Airlines has that cell-phone repeater. Don't assume that because Foo Bar Airlines has it, everybody does. The United 777 I took to and from Australia a year ago did not have such.
