In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of Word for the Day.
Chimerical
Adjective (Adverb - Chimerically)
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

I am off on my last minute banquet errands. Be back when I get here. Don’t make the admin gods delete anything before I see it. LOL
We’re having a banquet?
Obamacare, wildly chimerical
Supporters becoming hysterical
“Don’t kill it, don’t nix it
Our genius can fix it”
Success will require a miracle
Now I’m confused. The article I read earlier about the albino chimera coast redwood tree both meets and denies the first definition. It IS highly improbable (only a few exist in the world), but WAS NOT created by highly fanciful imagination, unless you consider God’s imagination fanciful, which would mean everything is chimerical.
Veeeerrrry Nice!!!!
love it, truthy.
On “The Soup” this week, they showed a clip from one of the “SVU” cop shows.
As some sort of fraternity prank, they got a guy drunk and then dropped him off in a gay bar. Someone hits on him and he beat the guy up.
The guy is oblivious, so the cops are explaining to him why it was not so strange that a man hit on him in that bar.
“It’s a gay bar”
“But ... there was hockey on the TVs”
retrieved xsboy from Union station last night around 11:30pm. Interview went well, but the return transportation was a nightmare. He was confirmed on a 10pm flight from Newark, was in the car being driven to the Newark airport and checked his phone to see that that flight was canceled and they put him on a flight to Reagan at 5 pm TODAY [yeah, that’s great] So he’s texting me, i’m texting xshub who is in Tampa, he gets a train reservation leaving Newark at 8 pm and in to Union station at 11, same time the flight was due to arrive. so ok, i am hoping to be able to relax about his travel, i said text me when you are on the train. So at 8pm he calls saying there was some problem with the train, he’s got to get on some OTHER train, NJTransit train to go to ANOTHER station, and supposedly would get on the same train #175 for union station. He’s exhausted, drained from getting up at the buttcrack of dawn having an all day interview and then having these travel issues. I have no idea what he’s doing, HE’s not sure what he’s doing, and i know JACK about amtrak in general. xshub is at a Tampa Bay Lightning game, i am calling him to help resolve this, and while i was grateful he answered, he was inaudible bc they were sounding the damn horn bc TB scored, RME! long story short he made whatever connection that was and got on the train, was able to sleep some, but had not eaten since the lunch Verizon provided. He has a cough and cold, and i am sure he will sleep til afternoon today. The interview itself went well. he was initially gratified to see that the other interviewees that were picked up by the same car looked like huge nerds, until later when he saw that the interviewers were just OLDER nerds, LOL! There were 50 interviewees in the afternoon session, another 50 in the AM session and apparently 50 the day before. They have 90 positions in a variety of cities. He said the HQ was enormous, consisting of 9 buildings.
my friends, the Puckbuddys, would be the first to tell you that ain’t dispositive!
Other major liberal Catholic players of the past have resurfaced during Francis pontificate, and come out strongly in favour of the popes new style. Celebrity Swiss theologian and long-time academic opponent of Pope Benedict XVI, Hans Kung, has recently stated that with the election of Francis he sees no need now to oppose the pope. Kung said he is overjoyed about Pope Francis. He has already achieved some things that can no longer be withdrawn, Kung told Südwestpresse. To think that he was not a reformer, would be to close our eyes to the facts. Kung was a bitter opponent of Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger/Pope Benedict, clashing repeatedly over the full roster of liberal causes, including abortion, homosexuality, contraception and female ordination and papal infallibility, among others. In 1979 the Vatican removed his faculties to teach as a Catholic theologian. The censure launched Kung into the realm of professional anti-Catholic spokesmen and he became an instant celebrity, doing lecture and book tours outlining his objections to Catholic teaching. Despite his open and insistent denial of key Catholic teachings, Kung has been allowed to remain a priest in good standing throughout the pontificates of John Paul II and Benedict XVI. He told Südwestpresse that although Francis program remains unclear, the signals he has been sending from the first minute of his pontificate are ringing clearly. I have made many proposals for reform in the course of my life. But that a Pope could leave the papal palace in such an elegant way. I could not imagine. Meanwhile, the homosexualist movement has unofficially adopted Francis comment last year as its most popular recent slogan. A social networking website launched T-shirts featuring the popes face and the caption, Who am I to judge? Pope Francis, the company says, has stepped away from the disapproving tone, the explicit moralizing typical of Popes and bishops.
50 interviewees all at once? They must have been herding them like cattle. ;-)
As long as they’re polite too. I prefer being assertive with peers. I am bossy with my kids and animals. I hate the whole idea of banning words. It seems...bossy.
Thanks very much.
Gracias.
That’s funny! My team is playing in the most corrupt city, besides DC, tonight.
Sorry your son is having transportation issues in NJ. Usually, everything works perfectly here. /sarcasm.
