“With police, do what you are told when told, nothing more, nothing less. Especially with these militarized thinking police.”

Here's the really stupid part of this - there is NO standardized protocol for traffic stops. For years the Texas Highway patrol demanded that you step out of your car. They would approach no closer than the back bumper till you were outside. A few years ago they suddenly decided that you MUST stay in the car until they walk up to the window. Now it is about half and half. When you are stopped you really have no idea what they want you to do.

If the police can't even standardize on something as simple as are you to stay in the car or get out, it is no wonder they are consistently inconsistent on everything else.

To: I cannot think of a name

That is one of the saddest posts I have seen on FR. Good enough place to bump the thread.

***How about this? A bumper sticker that signals to cops that the person who is stopped will act in a pre-described fashion, whether that is getting out or staying in with your hands on the wheel or whatever is proscribed by the 0rganization described y the bumper sticker. And as far as I’m concerned, whatever that cooperation is, it also includes video surveillance of the scene.
