“Dumb animals don’t know any better”
Except they do. I live on the Eastern coast of India, and there are a couple of elephant herds here that have discovered that they like alcohol, and that humans often have it in their houses. The herds have trashed several villages over the past year or so, breaking open all the houses to get at the palm toddy being made inside. I should add that elephants tend to be “mean” drunks, so such raids tend to get out of hand in short order.
Also, years ago there was a bar in Australia somewhere that I read about. The bartender had a pig for a pet, and the pig loved to drink beer. The regular patrons would buy one for it now and then. It was apparently a “happy” drunk, and would become very friendly after a couple of brews (Victoria Bitters, natch).
And women who should know better kill their unborn babies.
Men screw men.
Evil people rape children.
Morons stuff mind altering crap into their bodies every minute of every day.
It’s a fallen world.
In the days of Noah, humans had corrupted even the beasts of the field so the ‘big deal’ people have a lot of not-so-good company.
Don’t give me any “but everybody else does it” jazz.
I’m not a liberal so it won’t fly.
I doubt God finds any of this funny, either.

Yeah, plenty of animals willingly get themselves drunk in nature. Elephants, bears, or even the neighborhood squirrels on rotting pumpkins after Halloween. I’m not sure how people can moralize about it. Are we worried the animals are going to damage their brain cells and start showing up to work with hangovers?
Are you familiar with the phrase “slop the hogs”?
When making moonshine the tank used to ferment the corn before the liquid is distilled is called the slop tank.
After the corn has fermented and all the liquid squeezed out(corn squeezins) what was left was the slop they would feed to the hogs so nothing would go to waste.
