I'd like to apologize for my online behavior and inflammatory posts. When discussing the situation re illegal immigration I've used terms like "wetback."
When discussing things like the "knockout game", the white house, etc, I've used terms like "ghetto monkey."
It's shameful and sinful. It's a testimony to Jim Robinson's patience that I haven't been banned. It won't happen again.
Again, I'm sorry for that.
You didn't say Vacation-Monkey, so I think you're good. hehe
I post stuff all over at liebral news sites mosly and just leave it there .. I don’t go back and bicker over details as most don’t care to wade thru details anyway... and trying to re-educate folks when ya aren’t looking ‘em in the eyes is a waste of time.
Words are just that, words.
They can slay like a sword or just lay there and get trampled on. What difference does it make in the end?
I threw my rearview internet mirror away a long time ago.
Apologies not accepted.
none needed, imho.
The GOPe has given compromise and reaching out a bad name.
I think CL Lewis is correct. Rather than fighting against black history month, conservatives should seize our rightful place in it and use it to educate about who the true civil rights champions have been through history.
I have surprised a few liberals with my attitude and generosity over the years but they still listen to the media and think we want to “starve grandma” and continue our “war on women”. Most are stuck in their group think.
The 5 refers to immediate family members-actually, my family has been in S Texas since the mid-late 1700s-mostly Basque ancestry.
A few months ago, I was listening g to the Tom Joiner Morning Show on the radio. One of his co-hosts was discussing a poll that asked black respondents if the knew any white people ?
The question was sad. It wasn’t about interacting, being friends with or anything like that, just do you know any whites.
I don’t remember the specifics but the response was a staggering majority of “no”. That was deeply saddening to me that anyone in America can live that sheltered of an existence.
Family records are all we have, and a couple of ships’ passenger manifests from Spain-one of my relatives tracked our first Basque immigrants to the Pyrenees, but the ones who supposedly came from Leon are lost in shadow before they arrived in Vera Cruz.
A friend of mine gave me the following advice:
1. Don’t put in writing what you can say with your mouth.
2. Don’t say with your mouth what you can imply with a gesture.
Worst opus I’ve seen.
Only kidding. What you said gives us all pause. Things get charged up around here, and seeing outrage of the day in DC happening continually gets us all in a foul mood sometimes.
Let’s reload and redirect.
;-)
The long version:
1. Do not write what you can say.
2. Do not say what you can nod.
3. Do not nod what you can wink.
4. Do not wink what you can smile
I think it is fascinating to hear all the family histories about their arrival in this country. Mine arrived on the east coast very early. They migrated west and left a few marks along the way. Traveled by horseback/wagon or on foot to Texas. Tough people, tougher than I am.
One of the most fascinating stories I have ever heard came from my husbands dental surgeon. Her very large family left central Europe in about 1890 to go to the US. They traveled together to the nearest port, but because there were so many of them they were forced to take different ships. They did not speak the language of the port city and one half got on a ship to NY the other ended up in South America. It was about 75 years before the family was united.
Thanks for the words of encouragement. But it's not just the terminology. It's my whole spirit of discourse. Ever since Carter took office I've been filled with nothing but loathing for everybody who contributes to the destruction of the greatest country on earth. I hate them. Literally.
The Carters. Clintons. Obama. Illegals. Homosexuals. Liberals. Muslims. To name a few.
And that's wrong. Hence, the sin. I'm also a Christian. Jesus' Sermon on the Mount forbids the way I express my feelings.
I don't have to "feel" love for my enemies, but I do have to "show" love. Instead, I've shown the opposite. I've shown the most virulent, vicious side I've got. That's got to change.
To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize.- François-Marie Arouet
Ah - those were the days...
