Yes...the intellectualization of the bible and God is a big big downfall.

2 Timothy 3:14-17 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Satan's big lie. That Scripture isn't important, because the WORD is what defeats him.

Depending on experience and feelings leaves the door wide open for deception.

as I wrote, the scriptures are obviously helpful..but you cannot address the FACT that the new knowledge of Jesus and mercy of God came directly from the holy spirit after and during Pentecost. Fact. Address that if you dare. They had NO new testament then..they were dependent on the Holy spirit. Period. They had old testament scriptures, sure, but the new knowledge came through Jesus, not those scriptures. You are idol worshipping the bible. Period. And you will not see it!
