"A Brewers Fayre spokesman said: 'Having spoken to our team members at the Crooked Glen, we are satisfied that staff acted appropriately in this instance. 'On the day in question two customers sat down, uninvited, at a table where another couple were already dining. 'Having interrupted the couple's meal, they then began behaving in a way that other diners found excessive and inappropriate. 'Following complaints to staff, they were asked to move to another table, which they refused to do. 'They then started using abusive language towards other diners and staff, at which point the police were called. The incident was dealt with at the scene and no further action was needed."

The restaurant's side of the story puts a different slant on the incident and why the police were called.

Big difference between that and an uptight person complaining about a little kiss. Now the only question I have is whether this restaurant has group dining like some bed & breakfasts or if they just plopped down where there is no tradition of sharing a table with strangers.
