I plant lettuce year around. It does bolt quickly in the middle of summer, but you can get some salads out of it before it does.

What variety of lettuce do you plant in the summer? Do you plant it in mostly shade? Is it more bitter than fall planted lettuce?

Since you’re a culinarily clueful herb grower, I’m interested in growing what I need to make my own taco seasoning. What kind of chile/i makes the best powder? Any tips or tricks for this?
