The “Beware of dog” sign would be used as a defense that the owner had a dangerous dog.

Let’s not defend government employees when they violate the law.

The mail carrier and the meter reader have clearly managed to do their jobs in the past. The government employee can as well.

Exactly. How come everyone else manages to go about their business without shooting dogs every time one barks? At 12 I was a paperboy in Alaska where quite a few people kept dogs large enough and aggressive enough to scare the bears away from getting in their trash cans. I was challenged by dogs daily but I never had to shoot one and I never got bit. I did have to smack down a couple dogs on a regular basis. Cops should learn how to read the dog's body language and have other options than just shooting. I did at 12 years old.
