“Academics are often the most narrow-minded, bureaucratic, and obtuse people you will ever meet.
It seems to be a paradox, but the times have given it proof.”
My wife is a teacher, and we see it all the time.
You’d be shocked, or maybe you wouldn’t, at how little academics there actually are at the core of most academics.
People without ability of any sort, hiding behind the activity of obfuscating subjects that are generally simple and beautiful if approached in an organized manner.
I got some flak for my comment - from teachers who felt I insulted them, but you know exactly what I mean.
I find it particularly with administrators - internal politics seems to be their main role, and they also feel they need to latch on to some obtuse, grand education “theory” to do their job - and are often quite biased in their views, because their ideas are never challenged by reality.
