From the opening chapters of Genesis, the Bible makes it clear that God cares greatly about how he is worshipped. That almost no one is bothered by depictions of Christ reveals much about the devolution of theology. Earlier generations of American Christians would have immediately identified the 2nd Commandment as an issue here.

As for my parents, the air man had their house back to its balmy norm in no time. I wish they had let me come get them last night when they first realized the central heat wasn’t working, but they stubbornly insisted they could manage one cold night. And they did manage it, but I know it wasn’t much fun. They don’t want to be a burden and they don’t want me to worry, so they never complain.
