Vandals targeted the former Brooklyn home of director Spike Lee days after a video of the director ranting against gentrification went viral.
The vandals sprayed Do The Right Thing, on the front of the brownstone home in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn. The message is the title of one of Lees best-known movies, which tackles the subject of racial tension in a Brooklyn neighborhood. Lees former home had part of the title written on the side of its stoop.

That’s great for whoever lives there now.
Lees half brother Arnold, who lives in the house that was hit by vandals, told the New York Daily News that Lee needs to stop mentioning the house in his comments.Talk about being considerate, yes?
He can say whatever he wants, but dont mention that, Arnold Lee said.
Evil white racis’ taggers.
It was an anti-white rant, he would have not said a word if the gentrification was from another “minority” group, not a word. But conservatives worship the liberal authority and simply will not ask any decent questions of an anti-white thug like Lee.
This is one of those occasions when the stinking hypocrisy of liberals is so high, it almost reaches the tip of the stratosphere. If whites move out of crime-infested neighborhoods because blacks are entering, they’re racists. But if they move into black neighborhoods, they’re also racists. I doubt an ugly little b.....d like Lee even realizes what a gigantic, hyprocritical tool he is.
Guess those outer borough hitters didn’t have the nerve to attempt (because I’m pretty sure it would have stopped at attempt) to vandalize Spike Lee’s own mansion. Which is up for sale for double what he paid for it as discussed on a prior thread.
One of my coworkers who is avid Obama lover and Democrat said to me the other day “The reason we moved here in Ann Arbor and this location (near our work) is we wanted to live where there is no crime”.
This coming from the same gal who believes whites have an advantage over blacks regarding education and jobs and life itself. We whites caused all the problems for the way blacks are today. She is white by the way.
My ultra liberal daughter was visiting Atlanta on a business trip and wanted to visit the MLK museum.
When I asked her how she liked it she said she didn’t want to go alone because it was in an “iffy” neighborhood.
Big chuckle from me.
.
And until the country recognizes that black people cause black crime, nothing will be done. Which is why I want to segregate all white liberals and make them live in high crime areas. We'll see how they like being blamed for the dysfunctional behavior of the black underclass.
The difference between gentrifying gangs and the previous Fort Greene set is that this one probably spelled every word correctly and paid for the paint, rather than stole it.
Someone spray painted on the house? Was it Banksy or some other “hip” and celebrated graffiti artiste that New Yawkers love to gush about?
Or do they only cheer when it happens to “the Man” in corporate towers?
I thought an undercurrent of Spike Lee’s Do The Hate Thing was that the asian shopkeepers who were setting up business in his neighborhood were unwelcome.

Shortly after the death of Trayvon Martin, a 17-year-old African-American high school student, director Spike Lee vented his anger on Twitter. In what could be described as "vigilante justice," Lee retweeted what he believed to be the home address of George Zimmerman, the man who was later tried and acquitted of Trayvon's murder. The address actually belonged to a married couple completely unrelated to the case, who say an onslaught of death threats forced them to flee their home.
He cannot explicitly state it or he will find himself ex-communicated from the Democratic party cult. But conservatives being mainly lead by useful idiots never take advantage of such D party cult nonsense.
