Has anyone here seen the new movie Son of God? How is it.
I’ve attended a Methodist, Lutheran, Baptist, Assemblies of God and Presbyterian. I now attend a Home Church. Best group that I’ve ever met.
Matthew 16:16 Simon Peter replied, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
If it was good enough for the first Pope...
“found me in a fellowship where if one did not speak in tongues one was more or less shunned.”
Speaking in tongues is a gift of Holy Spirit. Too bad you had a bad experience. Don’t discount churches that operate in the gifts of the Spirit.
In an environment like Marin County...any sort of orthodoxy is quite rare indeed.
the majority of churches here...discuss.....social...issues rather the study and attend to God’s Word.
Ive heard its worse down in San Francisco..
I often laugh at Satan, and there is nothing that makes him so angry as when I attack him to his face, and tell him that through God I am more than a match for him - Martin Luther
My pastors said, When you laugh at evil...
I should have said, “When you laugh WITH evil, you’ve already lost the battle. Thanks.
One would had to have heard the question...the time span between the question and the answer and then the answer to get the sense of lack of authenticity involved.
Now that is well said :-)
Late night analytical thinking is soooo hard to understand.
that sounds about right.
All of the first assemblies of Christians were indeed home groups.
God knows what hes doing , even when so many forget
“All of the first assemblies of Christians were indeed home groups.”
They didn’t have to pay large untility bills to keep the buildings warm either.
An alarm went off. Then today I am reading about these folks real spiritual bent...and it now makes sense that I heard that bell.
True but it’s not the only gift. There are others and not everyone has the same gifts.
Ive been told have the gift of discernment. This may be why I had to stumble through a couple of churches before finding a church home. Something of a set of training exercises. i suspect.
We study and discuss. It’s modeled on the early church. I learn a lot, we all do. It’s like being pieces of a puzzle and joining together to make a “whole”.
“There are others and not everyone has the same gifts.”
God’s way of building the body of Christ.
So many of the larger churches..locally are very nearly empty.
they still have stunning stained glass windows and great wooden beamed ceilings,,and huge pipe organs..and are as dead as doornails.
You had your ears “tuned”. :-)
Absolutely! :-)
There we go.
Being a “Lone Ranger Christian”...is not a part of the plan.
