I dont suppose the producer and his actress wife are familiar with the admonition to neither add to or take away any words....from the book...nor would they be concerned that they had if they were thusly familiar.
we are saved by grace alone, no one deserves salvation nor can one earn salvation.
the Holy Spirit thru James tells us we are not saved by faith alone. but again, that is the historical Christian Faith, taught and believed for almost 2,000 years.

My sister sent the article to the television ministries that promoted Son of God. Hope they read it, then repent.

Actually it was the omissions throughout the movie that really caught my attention. I just thought to myself. . .”this movie is a major lost opportunity to minister to the lost” and it also didn’t do anything to enhance a church goer’s Bible knowledge other than perhaps provide the impetus to go home and review the events portrayed in the movie “in toto”.
Nowadays many think medieval movies are biblical. The church CANNOT send a mixed message.

We are JUSTIFIED by works as well as faith,...not to be confused as being SAVED by works.

I am going to opt out and do the Watch Word Bible on the televsion. It has the Bible in GIANT print with beautiful scenes of the Holy Land. Might as well see and hear the true version of the Son of God.

Was at the movie theater this evening and asked for a ticket to Son of God but they were sold out. They said they were going to add another showing to their schedule.
And this is “Godless” WA State.
I used to live in Marin and there was one church, in Inverness of all places that had the message. St Columba. Don’t know what it’s like now but I loved the message and the place, plus I grew to love the ritual.
I used to drive there for the 8AM service from San Rafael every Sunday and more for 20+ years.
Amen - I think you an I are on the same page. Grace alone, given freely by faith in Jesus Christ. Works are a manifestation that we are saved, and also profit the glory for God Himself, not us. Moreover, to claim works justifies us is to say that Almighty God "owes us" something, which is rubbish.
There are no Sacraments, rosaries, or rituals that will save us from Hell. Nothing, except Jesus Christ. All who call upon the Lord will be saved.
