In the 1918 flu pandemic the base hospital at Camp Dodge Iowa was treating many, and was finally quarantined. Many died and a make-shift morgue was created. One night the sergeant sent an enlisted orderly out to get a body from the morgue...as the orderly was carrying the body, the body spoke... ‘Put me down and I’ll walk!’ All planned ahead of time, of course to play a cruel joke on the orderly.
