It seems the bad apples are multiplying lately. It might have something to do with the hiring practices. Most police departments want two years of college, preferably in law enforcement but basket weaving is also OK. So a smart guy who has common sense and no college will lose out to a moron with two years of liberal arts. Then they have the affirmative action rules they have to follow. All this does is ensure that the most qualified person doesn't end up getting the job.

The Chief of Police in San Diego just resigned in the wake of several sexual assault charges against his officers (of course innocent until proven guilty). A woman Assistant Chief has just been appointed his successor. San Diego is the largest city in the US to have a female chief. She assures the public that 99.9% of the force is, and I paraphrase, above reproach.
