You're right. The UK now has two slim hopes. Prince William, as king, might make a difference. But he'd have to be willing to risk everything to change course. Unfortunately, that fool Charles is between William and the throne.
The UK's second hope is for another Cromwell. That's not likely.
So the most probable result is that the UK turns into one huge Detroit. My advice to Wales and Scotland: Break away and try to save your own identities.
