Gee, I wish I could stay home and drink all day,,, and have guns . . .
At my best friend’s bachelor party, I noticed a commotion among the staff at the “evening establishment” where we were. The entertainment wasn’t all that...entertaining, so I asked what was going on in parking lot out back. They said “you don’t want to know” which was the wrong thing to say to me. So I went back and found some of the dancers hanging around a car, and one ran away saying “He’s still got a pulse!” I looked in the window and said “not for long!” because the guy in the passenger seat had his brains blown all over the inside of the car.
Turns out he was a firearms safety instructor for Don’s Guns, a local gun dealer/indoor shooting range. He was showing his buddy how safe the gun was, and said “see, it won’t fire when you remove the magazine.” Well, he must have had the wrong gun.
Or at least that’s what his buddy in the car told the cops, and the cops bought it. I don’t think they really cared all that much about a dead bouncer in the parking lot of the Chanitlly Lace.
No. If you hold a pistol up to your head, pull the trigger and shoot yourself dead, you may not have intended to do it, but it wasn’t an accident.
booze + pistol = Russian roulette (maybe?)
He was probably too drunk to remember the rule about being drunk and handling guns.
I may have discovered the main flaw in the process.
Rule #1: EVERY firearm is ALWAYS loaded.
1) Don't be drunk.
2) Check that the gun is NOT loaded.
3) Check again.
4) Check one more time.
5) Now DON'T put the gun to your head and pull the trigger! What are you, some kind of dumbass?
I’ve got kids in my house (youngest is 9 now). There is none of this “treat them ‘as if’ they are loaded.” That still leaves room for doubt. I’ve demonstrated to all my kids that all my guns are loaded all the time. They’ve also fired the guns so they know what they can do. They don’t play with them but could use them if necessary.
Can anybody detect an agenda here ?
Michigan man kills himself while demonstrating gun safety
http://rt.com/usa/michigan-man-kills-gun-safety-714/
A Michigan man from Independence Township accidentally killed himself after reportedly firing a gun into his head while attempting to demonstrate how safe the weapon was.
The 36-year-old mans girlfriend told law enforcement that hed been drinking throughout the day when the incident occurred Sunday evening. Police told the Oakland Press that when they arrived at the home, the girlfriend was performing CPR on the man. He was declared dead at the scene.
Authorities have declined to release the names of those involved until the family has been notified. The girlfriend had been living with the man at the time with her three children, aged seven, 10, and 12.
According to the Oakland Press, the man was explaining to his girlfriend that his three guns were safe when not loaded. Police said he put two guns to his head and pulled the trigger, but when he did the same with the third gun, it discharged and a bullet went into his head.
(The situation) is pretty unique, as I have never heard of anyone testing out the safety of a gun by pointing at their head and pulling the trigger, Undersheriff Michael McCabe told the newspaper.
The man’s death has been ruled a suicide by the Oakland County Medical Examiner.
There have been numerous incidents related to accidental gun discharges over the last few years. Last week, a Florida man accidentally shot himself in the leg after leaving a gun safety class and manipulating his weapon in the parking lot. He was taken to a hospital and treated.
Just two months ago in Michigan, the vice president of the United Automobile Workers union, General Holiefield, mistakenly shot his wife in the stomach while cleaning a loaded gun. Fortunately, she survived the incident, and Holiefield pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges.
In August 2013, meanwhile, the instructor of a gun safety class in Ohio accidentally shot one of his students while he was demonstrating the firearm to the class. He apparently did not realize the gun was loaded, and the boy survived after being struck in his arm.
Might have been an ATF agent in a classroom full of kids.

Most Effective Safety Demonstration Ever!!!
There was nothing "accidental" about it. He put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger. How is that an accident?
It wasn't the gun's fault it/he was loaded.
bump
As are all Darwin awards. He has already reproduced therefore he can only get an honorable mention.
Which was a true statement.
Correction, they weren’t his biological children so full honors are reinstated.
#5. It’s never a good idea to point a gun at your own head and pull the trigger.
At least the kids in the house werent the mans biological children. Alcohol, stupidity, and guns don’t mix but, of the three only stupidity can be inherited.
He was 36.
Apparently he was too young to know that some pistols can fire with the magazine removed.
Ouch. Sad to die showing off for someone else.
I think she shot him in the head after he passed out drunk.
