Yep. Throughout history that has been true. And more and more people now understand that the US government is no different. But not as many as will understand by election day, or next year.

It is not government that ruins life — we ourselves are to blame for this disaster when we elect and re-elect individuals to govern us whose only concern is to keep their lucrative jobs.

This brings to mind the movie from 30 plus years ago where the people lived in a domed city and when each of the inhabitants reached 30 years of age, they participated in a 'celebration' where they were actually promoted to the next level (killed).

At this moment I am not remembering the name of the movie. A few people escaped the domed city when it was one of their time to be celebrated, and ran to the unknown world outside.

Like "1984" many books have accurately predicted the mind sets of the world's leaders of the future. Only not so future now!
