Ticketing is one thing. Man handling is another. 4 cops? REALLY?
Why not just shoot her and be done with it.
There must be an example made. Obey or suffer the consequences. As Solzhenitsyn said......
At what point, then, should one resist? When one's belt is taken away? When one is ordered to face into a corner? When one crosses the threshold of one's home? An arrest consists of a series of incidental irrelevancies, of a multitude of things that do not matter, and there seems no point in arguing about one of them individually...and yet all these incidental irrelevancies taken together implacably constitute the arrest.
When she pulled away, she was resisting ticketing. She refused to identify herself. While shooting her would be harsh, the number of cops it takes to subdue a person resisting arrest is not the issue. What is at issue is she jaywalked, would not identify herself, insisted she did nothing wrong, and attempted to flee.
By the way, more police officers makes it easier and safer to subdue a person like this young punk.
Don’t give them any ideas....
Good thing she didn’t have her dog. The only thing these thugs enjoy more than beating up women and shooting unarmed kids is shooting your 10 lb. dog.
Yup. We hire people like this and extend them power predicated on the idea that they will use discernment in assessing situations reasonably.
Until there is a public apology from the police chief of the city and this woman is made whole, I will never again set foot in Austin nor will I buy anything from any business based there.
Disgusting.
Thank God she did not have a dog out running with her.
