" In short, Mann failed to show he did not fake his tree ring proxy data for the past 1,000 years, so Ball’s assessment stands as fair comment. Moreover, many hundreds of papers in the field of paleoclimate temperature reconstructions that cite Mann’s work are likewise tainted, heaping more misery on the discredited UN’s Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change (IPCC) which has a knack of relying on such sub prime science."

This is so delicious! And I hope Mark Steyn goes balls to the wall on his lawsuit. Hopefully, there will be many lawsuits now against a lot of people and Government Agencies who are involved in this fraud.

Many people don’t understand this fact. Several decades ago a social work paper was published and later discredited, but to this day that paper and its results are still being cited in current papers without any reference to that fact.

As alarming are the presentation of studies that have not or cannot be replicated or verified and are cited as “settled science”.

If Mann loses, does that give all of us standing to sue the damned companies that have been feeding at the government trough to build windmills, batteries, solar plants, algae farms, etc., etc.? We have suffered the theft by government of hundreds of billions of OUR dollars to chase chimera supported by falsified data.

The wonder of Steyn’s counter claim is Mann can now be forced to disgorge his metadata, information he’s managed to conceal up to now. It’s as though somebody finally figured out a way legally to compel the Mahdi and Moochelle to disclose their background data.
