True, but there are plenty of civilian apartment complexes and houses surrounding most military posts/bases.
Wouldn’t surprise me if the CO didn’t one day say “OK boys and girls...if you have personal weapons at home, bring them in by 0600 Friday, and there will not be any penalties. Otherwise...”
And they will use “suspicion” of drugs as an excuse.
