If what the kid had in his hand looked anywhere remotely like a gun, you would have the police department waving it around on every news channel. The police would have a press release with a pic of the thing on the department website. There would be YOUTUBE videos of it.
The fact that there is all this silence, seems an indicator that they don't have any positive way of spinning this.
He wasn’t!
There are a lot of them. But if you look at numerous web sites. The American people are waking up and are getting fed up. Cops are not our friends..
Yep —
When you’re a hammer , everything looks like a nail.
Citizens all look like nails (and/or dogs) now.
“Depends on how you want to define trailer park.
Lots of them are actually RV parks where most of them cost north of $500,000”
I doubt the trailer park in this case is half a million. And let’s not get too carried away here with the noble poor. In this case, there was a probation violation, after all. Please find another story for blood thirsty cops.
Dittos!!! Her internet musings are not what you want to hear from armed police. She will be hanged by these words in a wrongful death lawsuit
“I know many decent, lawabiding, honest, hardworking individuals that happen to live in trailerparks. “
Well, in this case the criminals were there and the police was there for parole violation.
Talk about the sins of the father being visited on the son.
Not that it would excuse the bad shoot...
There fixed it.
Two officers arrived to serve an arrest warrant on Roupe’s father for a probation violation.
According to an affidavit and application for a search warrant filled out by the GBI, the female police officer on scene said, “before the door could be opened” she “heard what she believed to be the action of a firearm”.
The narrative goes on to say the female officer “began drawing her duty weapon”.
According to the investigator, “ a male subject opened the front door pointing a pistol...and pulled the trigger.”

So here is what we learn from the affidavit by the GBI:
The female officer had her gun already drawn before the door opened, and they did not secure the alleged weapon at the scene but the GBI had to get a search warrant to go back and look for one.
Law and Howard say the family does not have any handguns in the home, only a few BB guns that are rifles, not pistols.
Law showed 11Alive’s Duffie Dixon pictures he took of several toy pistols that were in the living room after the shooting.
“What if he was holding one of those? The investigators aren't telling us what this so called weapon was and whether they have it as evidence, so we really think it was not a gun,” said Law.
If the kid was playing a shooting game and the officer heard that I could see why she drew her gun. If he had one of these toy pistols in his hand I could see how this was a tragic mistake.
If it was a justifiable shooting then why is the GBI having to get a search warrant to go back in to look for what he had in his hands after the fact???
Why was what he had in his hands not picked up immediately and bagged as evidence right then and there on the spot immediately after the shooting???
It first started out that he had a gun that he pointed at her and pulled the trigger, then it became a BB gun, and now it’s a toy gun.
Now we find out that she pulled her gun before the door opened based upon hearing things that turned out to be untrue.
This is a shameless fishing expedition now but expected from LE nowadays.
I have been told by people in CJ in my state that if there are empty beds cops are given a list of probationers to visit during evenings especially weekends, when it is more likely for a 18-20 year old to be drinking or smoking (normal behaviors for that age range) thus breaking probation and brought in to serve 1-5 years.
Despicable.
That’s very likely — they were drumming up business which had been a little slow. When the jails are empty and there is no crime, officers get laid off.
One does wonder why they are serving a warrant at that time of day.
Was the father, the target of the warrant, even home???
Corporal Beth Gatny
Renee Vance, Christopher’s aunt is reported to have said,
“She immediately fired a bullet into the boys chest and killed him, The officer gave him ‘no warning’ to drop the controller before taking his life. The 13-year-old sister of Mr. Roupe, who was crying, went to hug and/or comfort her dying brother when the female cop pointed the gun at her and told her to ‘shut up.’
Watch the video, with a report from WSB-TV.
“A female police officer told GBI investigators that Roupe pointed a gun at her when he opened the door.”
Cole Law, the attorney representing the Roupe family said,
It just doesn’t add up. We don’t know where that statement came from. The eyewitnesses on the scene clearly state that he had a Wii controller in his hand. He heard a knock at the door. He asked who it was, there was no response so he opened the door and upon opening the door he was immediately shot in the chest.
Tia Howard, a neighbor who lives a few doors down, said they ran to the home after they heard the shot.
When we got up there, they said there was a Wii remote in his hand and she shot him.
Another neighbor, Ken Yates, said he saw the female cop moments after the fatal shot.
This is tragic. She came out of this house. She put her head in her hands and she was sobbing. Supposedly, he opened the door with a BB gun and in my opinion I think he was playing a game with his neighborhood buddies,
The family has set up a facebook page to honor their son. Lend them your support and let them know you’re willing to help.
