Go Here and scroll down to the January radio ratings discussion" for the entire thread. It mentions 104.7 and Q&R.
January radio ratings -- Karl, 00:41:15 02/20/14 Thu [1] The big news is twofold: KDKA-AM and 3WS are tied for the overall No. 1 spot, and WDVE has tumbled to sixth place.
These are the total audience numbers (6+) so it doesn't include any demographic breakdowns, which are the key to station revenues.
The top five stations in January were: KDKA and 3WS (tied), Bob FM 96.9, Y108 and KISS 96.1.
Later down the thread...
I think the rise of KDKA-AM coincides with the demise of Quinn and Rose.
Face it, if you're into spoken word in the morning and you were a Quinn listener, where were you going to go?
>snip<
104.7 continues to languish. They appear to be safe, despite the left's hopes, because costs are low, contracts long, and their shows are well known.
But they need a new morning show bad; be it Imus, Bill Bennett, paying Quinn and Rose the money, something new, whatever. There hasn't been a morning show that has sunk a station so much since David Lee Roth.
Yes! We have KDKA on for the morning drive to work now! At home I’m either streaming WMAL in DC or WRKO in Boston, but in the car it’s KDKA! Wow! So the Q&R listeners have somewhat of an impact?
I didn’t see this before I posted on today’s thread. Thanks for the ratings update. Interesting!
