I remember the Indy track fiasco a few years ago, they regrooved the track supposedly so the NASCAR vehicles would have better traction, well it worked too well, tires were only lasting 15 laps, had to emergency truck in extra tires to keep the race going, it actually slowed the race down so bad it was just like watching a carousel going around.
The Brickyard has never really recovered from that as far as attendance and overall interest goes. Of course the unmentionable on any news or sports channel is the effect Obama’s Economy has had on auto racing attendance.
I was at the Chicago Speedway race last year. A cold, wet nightmare.
That insane delay is the reason that all tracks are required to pay to have the Air Titans there this year.
Personally, I’d be OK if NASCAR ran in the rain.
