Xs boy texted after we got home on Sunday evening that the Hockey house (where he lives) acquired a pure bred husky pup. Some girl was working on a project with one of the housemates - wasn’t allowed to have the dog where she lives apparently, so she gave it to them, papers shots and all. My first words were— it’s very beautiful and just make sure you aren’t the one bringing it home in May! He sent a pic, and he is gorgeous, already size able and 9 mo old. I asked its name and he said the girl was Asian and so the dog speaks Chinese and English and it had a Chinese name but the boys named him Oshie, which is perfect for a hockey dog— tj Oshie winning the shoot outs to beat Russia the day before. And I have to say I thought tj Oshie was Asian for years!

How neat-whoever gets to keep the dog is getting a great companion-but if he is not yet neutered, that needs to be done, now-makes a much better pet. What color is the doggie?

You guys don’t like larger dogs, or are you thinking the dog might try to eat the Spaniels?

The Siberian Husky breed is hundreds of years old, has not been screwed with by too many breeders and so is very healthy, hardy and long-lived for a dog that size-they are easy to train, very people oriented, and clean. They are not all pet-aggressive or cat killers, either, if they are in a home with other pets from an early age-I offer Husky girl as an example, and there are many more on youtube.

In my previous job we had a Becky Zang who used to surprise people by not being Asian.
