Bradley Eames mixed gin with tea bags, bragging 'This is how you drink' before consuming the concoction that was the equivalent of taking 30 shots. He died a few days later, after complaining of having stomach pains. The show was part of a NekNominate challenge — a dare in which one person drinks alcohol in an extreme way and dares friends to outdo them within 24 hours.
A British student who drank two pints of gin as part of an online drinking craze died just days later. Bradley Eames mixed the gin with tea bags and bragged, "This is how you drink."
Despite warnings from friends, he said he had to go through with the challenge to show "who is boss," reports The Mirror,
The stunt was recorded, according to a friend of Eames, who said halfway through drinking he gags, then finishes the drink before turning to the camera and giving a thumbs up, then saying, "Have fun!"
The 20-year-old was drinking as part of a NekNominate challenge.
Officials are fearful about the dangers of the craze and it is thought Eames' is the fifth death attributed to NekNominate, even though the cause of death has yet to be determined.
After he uploaded the film, he wrote "haha belly is hurting," reports The Mirror. Rugby-playing Eames was found dead at his home in Nottingham, central England, a few days later. It is thought he drank the equivalent of 30 shots during his dare.
Police say the postmortem was inconclusive and are carrying out further tests.
The NekNominate craze, which involves someone downing a drink in an extreme manner and then challenging others to do something similar within 24 hours, is thought to have begun in Australia and is now sweeping the UK and Ireland.

Stupid is as stupid does
I like drinking alcohol as much as the next guy but having contests to see who can drink the most is just stupid.
NekNominate is not causing the deaths. People freely choosing to drink a poisonous quantity of alcohol is causing the deaths. They deserve no sympathy.
What is this anglo-saxon cultural thing about alcohol? Why is is considered fun to lose contact with reality? To get stoned, smashed, soused, etc etc.
One less idiot!
