Well, if one believes in the Theory of Evolution and the Survival of the Fittest, this genetic trait does not make for survival of the human specie.
Could be a recessive trait that “hides” through many generations. Could even be a spontaneous mutation that arises from time to time if there’s an error at the right spot.
